Can’t say I agree on the floss threaders being a total mystery. They’re awkward at first, for sure, but I’ve seen folks get the hang of them after a couple weeks—sometimes it just takes finding the right brand or even switching to those little interdental brushes. Honestly, I’d take a bit of fiddling with floss over skipping it and ending up with gum issues later. The wax thing, though... yeah, that’s hit or miss depending on the wires and how much you talk during the day. I do think adults notice that “slow motion” feeling more, but sometimes the changes are happening even if you can’t see them in the mirror yet.

Honestly, same here. I’m not about to pay for braces and then cheap out on flossing just to save 90 seconds a night. That said, those threaders are like trying to thread a needle after three cups of coffee... Some nights I just give up and use the water flosser. Curious—has anyone found a brand of wax that doesn’t melt off in five minutes? I talk a lot at work and it’s like, why even bother some days?

I’ve tried a bunch since I’m on a budget and don’t want to keep buying stuff that just falls off. The GUM Ortho wax is a bit better than the generic pharmacy brands, but honestly, if I have coffee or talk too much, it still disappears pretty fast. I started cutting the wax into smaller pieces and doubling up—helps a little, but it’s not perfect. Anyone else notice the pricier waxes aren’t really worth it? Or am I missing something with application?

Yeah, I’ve noticed the same thing—doesn’t matter if I splurge or grab the cheap stuff, it all seems to vanish after a cup of tea or a long convo. I tried chilling the wax before putting it on, thinking maybe it’d stick longer, but honestly? Not much difference. It’s kinda wild how something so simple can be this annoying. You’re definitely not alone in feeling like it’s a bit of a scam sometimes… Just gotta keep experimenting, I guess. Hang in there—it does get easier (sort of).

Man, the wax struggle is real. It’s like it has a sixth sense for when you’re about to actually need it—one sip of coffee or a quick chat and poof, it’s gone. I’ve seen people try everything from chilling it to using more than they probably should, but it’s just a bit of a learning curve. The good news? Your cheeks do toughen up after a while, and you’ll probably start forgetting you even need the stuff. Hang in there... awkward wax moments are kind of a rite of passage.
