I get what you're saying about the antiseptic rinse—I used it too and felt like it made a difference. But honestly, when I ran out halfway through recovery (typical me...), I switched to saltwater, and weirdly enough, things still healed up pretty smoothly. Maybe my gums aren't as picky, or maybe I just got lucky? Either way, if spending a bit extra gives you peace of mind, totally worth it imo. Tooth extraction recovery is stressful enough without worrying about rinses, lol.

Haha, typical indeed—I swear I always run out of stuff halfway through recovery too. But yeah, saltwater is underrated. When I had my wisdom teeth out, my dentist just shrugged and said saltwater would do the trick if I ran out of the fancy rinse. Maybe our gums are just chill about it? Either way, glad your recovery went smoothly. Tooth extraction stress is real enough without worrying about the perfect rinse, right?

Totally agree about saltwater being underrated. Honestly, I've been through a couple of tooth extractions myself (unfortunately), and every single time, the dentist hands me some fancy rinse that costs way too much. I usually use it for the first few days, then switch to warm saltwater once it runs out. Never noticed any difference in healing speed or comfort level, personally.

I think dentists recommend those rinses mostly because they're antiseptic and convenient, but saltwater does pretty much the same job—reduces inflammation, cleans the area gently, and helps prevent infection. Plus, it's cheap and always available at home. Recovery is stressful enough without worrying about running to the pharmacy again mid-healing, right?

Glad your recovery went smoothly though. Tooth stuff is no joke, and it's always nice to hear when someone else gets through it without complications.

Yeah, saltwater's definitely underrated. But honestly, as someone who's seen a lot of dental recoveries, I still get anxious about skipping antiseptic rinses entirely. Had an extraction myself last year and stuck religiously to the dentist's rinse for the first week before switching to saltwater. Maybe it's just me being overly cautious, but I'd rather not risk complications... Did anyone else feel uneasy about ditching the antiseptic rinse early?

I totally get where you're coming from—I had an extraction and implant done about six months ago, and I felt the exact same anxiety. My dentist recommended antiseptic rinse for at least the first week, and even when she said I could switch to saltwater, I hesitated a bit. Eventually, I did switch, but honestly...I kept alternating between both rinses for another week just to ease my mind. Probably overkill, but better safe than sorry, right? Glad I'm not the only one who worries about this stuff.
