I've heard the warm compress advice before, but honestly, I'd be cautious about switching too soon. From my experience, cold packs were actually pretty effective for controlling initial swelling and discomfort—especially in the first 48 hours or so. Warm compresses can help later on, sure, but applying heat too early might actually increase swelling. Everyone heals differently though, so maybe it's just a matter of timing...

Totally agree about the timing thing—cold packs were a lifesaver for me in those first couple days. When I switched to warm compresses too early, it felt like the swelling actually got worse. My dentist explained that cold helps constrict blood vessels initially, reducing swelling and inflammation, while warmth later on encourages blood flow and healing. I guess the trick is knowing when to make that switch... everyone's body does things at its own pace, after all.

Totally feel you on this—figuring out the timing can be tricky. I found it helpful to listen closely to my body signals (like discomfort levels) rather than just following general guidelines. You're doing great though, hang in there!

Definitely true... I remember worrying about switching foods too soon and risking complications (and more dentist bills, lol). Just trust your gut and take it slow—your mouth will thank you later.

Yeah, that's solid advice... I remember feeling impatient and trying pizza too soon after my extraction—big mistake, lol. Did anyone else find certain foods surprisingly tricky even weeks into recovery?
