"Had a molar extracted and an implant put in last year, and every time I felt a yawn coming on, I had to do this weird half-yawn thing..."

That half-yawn struggle is so real—I remember doing the exact same thing after my extraction. For me, laughing was surprisingly tough too. I'd start chuckling at something funny and then immediately regret it because of the soreness. Totally agree about soups and smoothies being lifesavers; I stocked up on frozen fruit and veggies beforehand, which kept costs down and made meal prep super easy. Glad that's behind us now...

Same here, laughing was the worst! Sneezing too... I dreaded feeling one coming on. Frozen fruit smoothies were my go-to as well—cheap and soothing. Another tip: mashed potatoes and scrambled eggs were budget-friendly and filling when I got tired of soups. Recovery felt slow but eventually got there. Hang in there, it does get better.

Ugh, sneezing was definitely the worst part for me too. I remember desperately trying to hold one in at work and just making this weird face instead... coworkers probably thought I'd lost it. 😂 Agree on scrambled eggs—lifesaver when you can't handle another bowl of soup. It feels endless at first, but one day you'll realize you're laughing again without pain. Hang tight, you're almost there.

Haha, the sneezing struggle is real. I had a patient tell me once he tried to suppress a sneeze during a meeting and ended up making this bizarre squeaky noise instead—he said his boss looked genuinely concerned. Scrambled eggs are great, but have you tried mashed avocado or sweet potato? They're soft, filling, and give you a nice break from eggs and soup. Recovery can feel like forever, but you're right—one day you'll just realize you're back to normal without even noticing when it happened.

Haha, that sneezing story made me chuckle—I've definitely been there. Reminds me of when I had my implant done; I was so paranoid about sneezing or coughing at the wrong moment that I'd literally pinch my nose shut...which, looking back, probably wasn't the best idea. 😅

Mashed avocado is a lifesaver, honestly. I remember getting tired of soups and smoothies pretty quickly, so avocado toast (minus the toast part at first) became my go-to comfort food. Sweet potatoes are great too—especially if you roast them until they're super soft and sprinkle a little cinnamon on top. Feels like dessert without actually being dessert.

You're totally right about recovery sneaking up on you. One day you're carefully chewing on just one side and being overly cautious, then suddenly you realize you're munching away normally without even thinking about it. It's such a relief when you finally hit that point!
