Did you find pasta tricky too? I thought softer noodles would be safe, but bits kept sliding into the extraction area... took me by surprise. Curious if others had similar issues with foods you'd normally think are gentle.

Pasta was tricky for me too, actually. I remember thinking mac and cheese would be a safe bet—soft noodles, creamy sauce, seemed foolproof. But nope, little pasta bits kept sneaking into the extraction site, and it drove me nuts. I switched pretty quickly to mashed potatoes and soups for a bit, just to avoid the hassle. Even rice was sneaky, you'd think it's soft enough, but those tiny grains can be surprisingly stubborn.

Honestly, I think it's less about softness and more about texture or shape—anything small or slippery tends to find its way into places you don't want it. Hang in there though, it does get easier pretty quickly. After about a week, I found I could manage most of my usual foods again without too much trouble. Just gotta be patient and creative with meals in the meantime...

Haha, yes! Rice was a no-go for us too. When my daughter had her extraction, we thought scrambled eggs would be perfect—soft, easy to chew—but even those tiny egg bits got stuck and caused discomfort. We ended up sticking mostly to smoothies, yogurt, and blended soups for the first several days. It felt limiting at first, but it really helped her heal faster and kept frustration levels down. Hang in there...it really does improve quicker than you'd think.

Totally relate to the scrambled eggs thing...we had the same issue. Weirdly enough, mashed potatoes were our lifesaver—smooth, filling, and didn't cause any irritation. Recovery feels slow at first, but you're right, it picks up pretty quickly after those first few days.

Mashed potatoes were a winner for me too—though I did get tired of them pretty fast, haha. Another thing that helped was oatmeal; easy to eat and gentle enough not to irritate anything. You're right about recovery picking up after those first few days...hang in there!
