Totally agree about the citrus thing...I learned that the hard way with pineapple juice after my implant surgery. Thought it'd be refreshing, but nope, instant regret. Stuck to banana smoothies and oatmeal after that, way gentler on the gums. Hang in there, it does get easier.

Honestly, I'm always a bit paranoid about post-extraction foods—maybe overly cautious, but better safe than sorry. Mashed sweet potatoes were a lifesaver for me as well, and scrambled eggs (cooled down, obviously) were another gentle go-to. Just watch out for sneaky spices or seasonings, even mild ones can irritate unexpectedly. Recovery can feel endless at first, but it really does get easier each day. Hang in there!

Tomato soup surprised me as well—it's the acidity, I think. I remember assuming it'd be gentle, but nope...lesson learned. Personally, lukewarm oatmeal and avocado smoothies were my staples during recovery. Also, I found that even room-temperature water felt oddly sensitive at first. Everyone heals differently, but after about a week things started feeling noticeably better for me. Patience really is key with dental recovery.

Reading these experiences makes me feel a bit less nervous, honestly. I haven't had my extraction yet—scheduled for next Tuesday—and I've been obsessively googling recovery stories. The tomato soup thing caught me off guard because that's exactly what I stocked up on yesterday thinking it would be soothing...guess I'll have to rethink that one!

It's reassuring to hear things started improving for you after about a week, though. My dentist said something similar, but hearing it from actual experiences helps more than you'd think. Lukewarm oatmeal sounds doable, and avocado smoothies actually sound pretty good—might even turn into a new favorite snack after this whole ordeal, haha.

I remember when my sister had her wisdom teeth out, she swore by mashed potatoes and scrambled eggs. But then again, she healed super quickly and was back to normal foods in like five days.
