It's definitely understandable to feel concerned about nutrition after an extraction, especially with picky eaters. Kids can be particularly sensitive to texture and taste changes post-procedure, so you're not alone in this struggle. I've seen many parents get creative—sometimes freezing smoothies into popsicles or blending fruits into yogurt can help make things more appealing. Also, don't underestimate the nutritional value of fortified drinks or even chilled protein shakes; they're gentle on healing gums and can pack in essential nutrients. You're right about patience being key—healing timelines vary widely, and kids often bounce back quicker than we expect. Hang in there, you're doing great...and who knows, maybe that avocado-spinach smoothie will become a surprise favorite after all.

When my daughter had her extraction, I remember thinking she'd never eat anything nutritious again—she was already picky, and post-procedure she got even fussier. Weirdly enough, chilled mashed sweet potatoes mixed with a little coconut milk ended up being our lifesaver. Smooth and cool enough to soothe her gums, plus she liked the sweetness. Kids really do surprise you sometimes...but yeah, patience is definitely key. It took about a week before she was back to eating normally again. Hang in there!

Glad to hear your daughter bounced back pretty quickly. My son had an extraction recently too, and honestly, I was worried he'd live on yogurt forever... He did eventually warm up to scrambled eggs and smoothies, but it took closer to two weeks. Guess every kid's different.

Glad your son's doing better now—I totally get the yogurt thing, haha. Honestly, I was terrified before my extraction (first-timer here), but it wasn't as bad as I'd imagined. Took me about a week to brave anything beyond mashed potatoes and smoothies though... everyone's recovery really is different.

Interesting you say that—my experience was quite different. I went into my extraction expecting a quick bounce-back, since friends had told me it was easy. But honestly, it took me closer to two weeks before I felt comfortable chewing anything remotely solid. Yogurt and smoothies got old fast... ended up experimenting with soups and blended stews just to keep things interesting. Guess it really does vary a lot from person to person.
