Eating right after getting implants removed made a huge difference

Had my dental implants taken out about two weeks ago, and honestly, changing up my diet really sped up recovery. I stuck mostly to smoothies, mashed potatoes, soups (not too hot!) and scrambled eggs for the first few days. The swelling went down pretty quick and pain was minimal. Weirdly enough, avocado smoothies became my thing, who knew? Curious if anyone else found certain foods helped them bounce back quicker or had unexpected favorites during recovery.

Avocado smoothies sound tasty, but honestly, they can get pricey quick... I found applesauce cups and good ol' instant oatmeal packets did the trick just as well. Not fancy, but hey, recovery on a budget, right? Glad you're feeling better though!

Totally agree about oatmeal and applesauce—those are solid choices. Honestly, the simpler foods usually work best anyway since they're gentle on healing gums. I've seen plenty of patients bounce back quickly with basic pantry staples. Fancy smoothies are nice, but definitely not necessary for a smooth recovery. Good call on keeping it budget-friendly, too. Glad you're noticing improvement already...keep it up!

Couldn't agree more with this. When my mom had her implants removed, she initially thought she'd need all these fancy protein shakes and specialty soups. But honestly, after a couple days of frustration (and a lot of wasted money), we realized basic mashed potatoes and scrambled eggs were way easier on her gums—and her mood, haha. Sometimes simplicity really is key.

I'm curious though, did anyone else find temperature mattered as much as texture? My mom swore lukewarm or room-temp foods felt way better than anything too hot or cold. Wondering if that's common or just one of her quirks...

Totally agree about temperature making a difference. When I had braces tightened, my gums were super sensitive, and anything too hot or cold was uncomfortable. Lukewarm soups and room-temp smoothies were definitely easier to handle. Also, mashed sweet potatoes became my go-to comfort food—easy on the gums and filling enough to keep me satisfied. Funny how simple foods end up being the best recovery buddies...
