I get the frustration, but honestly, sometimes orthodontists can be overly cautious. My first ortho said my underbite would take at least two years, but when I switched for a second opinion, the new doc adjusted my treatment plan and shaved off several months. Not saying that's always the case, but it might be worth checking out another perspective if you're feeling stuck. Either way, hang in thereβ€”those incremental changes really do add up over time.

Totally get that, but I'd honestly rather mine be extra cautious than rush things and mess up my bite even more... I'm already nervous enough! But yeah, second opinions never hurt when you're feeling unsure.

Yeah, same here. Orthodontics isn't exactly a quick fix kinda thing anywayβ€”it's all about gradual adjustments to avoid causing more harm than good. Underbites especially can be tricky since they're dealing with jaw alignment, not just teeth positioning. I know it's frustrating when it feels like nothing's happening, but slow and steady usually pays off in the long run. Hang in there...it'll be worth it eventually.

I get the caution thing, but sometimes orthodontists can be overly conservative. Mine took forever with braces, and turns out surgery was actually the better option for my underbite. Wish I'd known sooner...might've saved me a year or two of frustration.

Totally feel you on this one. My orthodontist was super cautious too, kept promising me braces would magically fix my underbite. Two years later, still rocking the bulldog look and getting nowhere fast. Finally, I got fed up and went for a second opinionβ€”turns out surgery was pretty much the only real fix for my jaw alignment.

Honestly, wish I'd done it sooner. Yeah, surgery recovery wasn't exactly a walk in the park (hello liquid diet and Netflix marathons), but at least it was progress. Braces alone felt like watching paint dry...slowly. Orthodontists mean well, but sometimes they're playing it way too safe. If you're feeling stuck, definitely worth checking out another opinionβ€”might save you from endless months of frustration and awkward selfies.
