Totally feel you on this—my ortho said 18 months, and here I am at month 26 still counting, lol. Second opinions helped me realize there were cheaper options my ortho hadn't mentioned. Hang in there, it's slow but worth it... eventually.

Ugh, I totally get the frustration and anxiety... I'm at month 20 myself and still not seeing much progress with my underbite. Did your second opinion mention anything about surgery? I'm nervous mine might eventually suggest it.

I'm right there with you... month 24 here, and honestly, progress feels like watching paint dry. My ortho did hint at surgery once, but I'm super hesitant—heard mixed things. Hang in there though, slow doesn't mean hopeless.

I'm around month 18 myself and feeling stuck too... ortho mentioned surgery briefly but didn't dive deep. Honestly, I'm curious—did yours give specific reasons why braces alone might not cut it? I'm considering a second opinion just to clarify things.

I'm hitting month 20 here (but who's counting, right?), and I totally get the frustration. My ortho explained that sometimes braces alone can't fully correct an underbite if it's skeletal—meaning jaw alignment rather than just teeth position. Basically, braces can only move teeth so far before the jaw itself becomes the roadblock. But hey, second opinions are always a good call... my cousin got one and ended up avoiding surgery altogether. Worth checking out for peace of mind, at least. Hang in there!
