After two days, I was staring longingly at my family's dinner plates, dreaming of something savory. Mashed cauliflower is pretty genius; I ended up blending soups like broccoli cheddar or potato leek just to get some savory satisfaction. Honestly, though, it's hard to anticipate exactly how your taste buds will react post-op. Everyone's a bit different, so don't stress it—you're doing just fine figuring this out on the fly. And trust me, once you're through this stage, regular food tastes like an absolute dream. Hang tight, it gets easier from here.

I feel this so much... I went in thinking smoothies and milkshakes would be my saviors too, but by day three I was literally fantasizing about scrambled eggs and mashed potatoes. 😂 Blended soups were a total lifesaver—especially tomato basil with a bit of cheese melted in. Honestly, you're right, everyone's taste buds seem to go rogue post-op. Hang in there though, you'll be savoring real meals again soon enough.

Couldn't agree more about the soups. I initially thought I'd be fine with protein shakes and smoothies, but after day two, the sweetness was overwhelming. Ended up making batches of homemade veggie soups (budget-friendly too, thankfully). Carrot ginger was surprisingly satisfying... though I admit, scrambled eggs haunted my dreams for days. Taste buds definitely have their own agenda post-op, but it does get better pretty quickly. Hang tight!

I remember thinking I'd be fine with smoothies too, but after a couple days, anything sweet made me cringe. Ended up leaning heavily on savory soups—broccoli cheddar was my go-to. Also found that adding a pinch of smoked paprika or cumin helped keep things interesting without irritating my mouth. You're spot-on about taste buds having their own agenda post-op; mine were all over the place for a good week or so. But you're right, it does get easier pretty quickly. Before you know it, you'll be back to eating normally and this'll just be a distant memory. Hang in there, you've got this.
