Haha, whale sounds? I admire your bravery—I think I'd have been more anxious hearing mysterious ocean noises right before surgery. Personally, podcasts worked better for me. Something about people chatting casually made me feel less alone and distracted from the nerves. Totally agree on prepping questions though; it makes a huge difference feeling prepared and informed, especially if you're budget-conscious like me and want to avoid surprise charges later.

Haha, whale sounds would've totally freaked me out too...I get anxious enough just sitting in the waiting room. Podcasts are a good call though—hearing casual chatter can really help normalize things. For me, I found writing down step-by-step what to expect before my bone graft helped ease my nerves. Knowing exactly what's coming next makes it feel less overwhelming somehow. And yeah, prepping questions ahead of time is key, especially if you're worried about hidden costs popping up later. Glad you found something that worked!

Yeah, I get that, but honestly, sometimes knowing every single detail beforehand just ramps up my anxiety. I prefer trusting the doc and distracting myself... ignorance can be bliss, at least for me.

I totally see your point, but for me, knowing exactly what's coming next is like having a roadmap—keeps me calm. Last time I had bone graft surgery, I practically grilled the doc beforehand. Poor guy probably thought I was prepping for dental school...

Haha, I totally get it. Funny thing is, I used to be exactly like that—didn't wanna hear a peep about what they'd do. But after a not-so-great dental experience years ago (nothing major, just felt blindsided), I switched gears. Now I'm the one with a million questions. Docs probably dread seeing me walk in...but hey, whatever keeps us calm and comfortable, right?
