wish I could doze off like that at the dentist! I'm going in soon for my first bone graft procedure and honestly, feeling pretty anxious about it.

That's pretty impressive actually, falling asleep during dental work... wish I had that superpower, haha. I've found calming playlists helpful too, but honestly, the cost of procedures stresses me out more than the actual dentist visit. Did your dentist charge extra for stuff like calming music or special comforts? Mine's great but charges seem to add up quick, so I'm always curious how others handle it without breaking the bank.

That's interesting you mention the added costs for comforts like music or extras... most dentists I know don't actually charge extra for streaming calming playlists or letting patients bring their own earbuds. At least, that's been my experience. Usually, the fees that stack up are more tied to sedation options—like nitrous oxide or oral sedatives—which can definitely add a bit to the bill.

As for falling asleep during dental work, it's actually pretty common when patients get comfortable enough or are lightly sedated. I've seen plenty of people doze off during procedures you'd never expect! Anxiety around bone grafts is totally understandable, though. The procedure itself sounds scarier than it typically ends up being. A good dentist or oral surgeon generally knows how to keep discomfort minimal and anxiety well-managed.

If you're concerned about costs piling up, it helps to ask upfront about what's included in your quoted price. Most offices I've encountered are pretty transparent about whether sedation, follow-up visits, or comfort measures like neck pillows and headphones are included or billed separately. It never hurts to clarify beforehand so there aren't surprises later on.

Your experience sounds pretty reassuring, but honestly, I've run into a few dentists who do charge extra for things you'd think would be standard—like headphones or even just playing music. Maybe it's regional or depends on the practice size, but it definitely happens. I agree sedation is usually the bigger cost factor, though.

About falling asleep during procedures... man, I wish! Even with sedation, I'm usually way too anxious to drift off. But you're right, bone grafts sound way scarier than they actually are. My cousin had one recently and said the anticipation was way worse than the actual procedure. Still, I think it's smart to get a second opinion if you're feeling uneasy about costs or comfort levels. Different dentists can have totally different approaches and pricing structures, so shopping around a bit can really pay off in peace of mind and savings.

Yeah, charging extra for headphones is a bit much... we just keep a Spotify playlist going, no extra fees involved. And you're totally right—bone grafts sound intense, but most patients say afterward it wasn't nearly as bad as they expected. Anxiety's the real kicker, honestly.

Totally agree, anxiety's usually worse than the actual procedure. Had a bone graft last year and spent days stressing over it, but honestly, the worst part was just keeping ice packs handy afterward. Also, Spotify playlists are the way to go—my dentist had some smooth jazz going, which weirdly helped me chill out... or maybe it was just the laughing gas kicking in. Either way, no headphone fees needed.
