So my dentist mentioned I might need a sinus lift before getting implants and now I'm kinda spiraling. Like, what if they accidentally puncture something or it doesn't heal right...has anyone had this done? How'd you handle the anxiety?

Totally get why you're worried—sinus lifts can sound intimidating, especially when you start picturing all the things that might go wrong. Honestly though, these procedures have become pretty routine these days. I've assisted in quite a few, and complications like punctures are pretty rare. When they do happen, they're usually minor and heal up fine with proper care.

What might help ease your mind is having a detailed chat with your dentist or oral surgeon beforehand. Ask them exactly how often they've done this procedure and what their personal complication rate is. I find most anxiety comes from uncertainty, so getting clear answers can help a lot.

Also curious—did your dentist mention if they're planning on using bone graft material from you or synthetic stuff? Sometimes knowing more about the specifics can make it feel less overwhelming...

Totally understandable to feel nervous—sinus lifts sound way scarier than they usually are in practice. Have you asked your dentist if sedation is an option? I know a few people who've had it done under sedation, and they said it really helped ease their anxiety. Also, knowing exactly what to expect afterward (like swelling or discomfort) can make things feel way less daunting. Hope it all goes smoothly for you...
