The mental side of it dragged way more than the physical recovery, at least for me.

Yeah, that pins and needles thing threw me off too. I remember waking up thinking, “Did something go wrong?” but it faded after a bit, just like you said. Swelling was the worst for me on day three—felt like my face was twice its normal size. The six month timeline was spot on for bone healing, but honestly, I was eating pretty normally after a couple weeks. The mental part definitely drags... waiting for those follow-ups feels endless.

Man, I hear that. The waiting game is brutal, especially when you’re just stuck with all the weird sensations and swelling. For me, the swelling peaked around day two or three too—looked like I’d lost a fight. Eating came back faster than expected though, which was a win. Did anyone else have random aches pop up weeks later? That threw me for a loop.
