I totally get what you're saying about the stiffness—my dentist gave me the same strict soft-food-only lecture, and honestly, I was so anxious about messing something up that I stuck to smoothies and applesauce for almost a full week. But yeah, by day four or five my jaw felt super tight and uncomfortable, like it had forgotten how to chew altogether. Eventually, I cautiously tried some scrambled eggs (extra fluffy and soft), and even that little bit of chewing seemed to help ease things up a bit.

I think dentists probably just want us to avoid anything risky since everyone's healing process is different. I'm still pretty nervous about pushing it too far though...the idea of complications freaks me out, haha. Maybe gentle chewing in moderation is okay after a few days? Still, better safe than sorry—I'm keeping it slow for now.

Honestly, I think dentists can be overly cautious sometimes. After my graft, I gently introduced slightly firmer foods like pasta or mashed potatoes around day 3-4—still soft, but more texture—and it actually helped loosen up my jaw without issues. Just listen to your body...and chew carefully.

Totally agree with this. Dentists definitely err on the side of caution, but everyone's healing process is a bit different. When I had my graft, I was super nervous about chewing anything remotely firm at first, but around day 4 or 5, I tried some scrambled eggs and soft pasta—honestly felt like a huge relief to finally move my jaw a bit more naturally. Just take it slow and trust your instincts; your body usually knows what's up.

Yeah, scrambled eggs were my lifesaver too. Honestly, dentists can be overly cautious sometimes—mine acted like I'd shatter into pieces if I even looked at solid food. Just trust your gut (literally) and ease back into chewing slowly...you'll know when you're ready.

Scrambled eggs were my go-to as well, but I remember getting brave and trying mashed potatoes too early...big mistake. Dentists mean well, but everyone's healing pace is different. Just take it slow and listen to your body—you'll get there soon enough.
