Exactly! I remember thinking I'd be good with oatmeal around day three...nope, too soon. Everyone's timeline is a bit different. Hang in there, it really does get easier.

Glad someone else mentioned oatmeal—thought I'd be smart and try scrambled eggs on day two. Big mistake, felt like chewing gravel. 😂

Quick question though, did anyone else notice the pain getting worse at night? During the day it's manageable, but as soon as I lay down it's like my jaw decides to throw a tantrum. Wondering if that's normal or if I'm just special...

Also, how long did you all wait before trying something crunchy again? I'm seriously craving chips, but the thought of accidentally poking the graft area makes me cringe. The dentist said two weeks minimum, but honestly, that feels optimistic at this point. Anyone brave enough to test it sooner? Or am I doomed to applesauce and smoothies forever?

Hang in there everyone—at least we're all suffering together, right?

Yeah, nighttime pain is definitely worse for me too—it's like as soon as I lay down, gravity decides to mess with me. Has anyone tried sleeping propped up with extra pillows? Wondering if that actually helps or just makes your neck sore instead. And about crunchy food... honestly, I'm way too paranoid to even think about chips yet. Did your dentist mention anything specific about popcorn? That's my biggest craving right now, but I'm terrified of kernels getting stuck...

Sleeping propped up with pillows helped me a bit, but honestly, it wasn't a game changer. I ended up with a stiff neck more often than not. What really made a difference for me was using one of those wedge pillows—less awkward than stacking regular pillows and way more supportive. As for popcorn, my dentist was pretty firm about avoiding it until everything healed. Maybe try puffed snacks instead? They're crunchy enough to satisfy cravings without the kernel drama...

Haha, wish I'd read this sooner. After my graft, I stubbornly tried sneaking some popcorn... big mistake. Ended up back at the dentist getting lectured like a kid caught stealing candy. As for sleeping, wedge pillows are legit. Regular pillows had me waking up twisted like a pretzel—felt like I'd aged 20 years overnight. Wedge pillow saved my neck (literally). Hang in there though, it does get better... eventually.
