Does a braces-removal quote usually include the retainers?
When comparing braces-removal estimates, what’s worth confirming about the retainer costs? I’m curious whether quotes commonly include the removal appointment and the initial retainers, or whether scans or impressions and fit adjustments may be billed separately. Does it also help to ask how replacement retainers are priced? I’d expect the total to depend on the retainer type and the clinic’s package, but I’m not sure what’s typically itemized.

It’s worth separating “initial retainers included” from the costs around them. A quote could include the retainers but list the scan or impression, and the first fit adjustment, separately, so those are useful line items to compare.
The quote may cover the removal appointment but not necessarily a separate post-removal visit. For replacement retainers, I’d ask whether there’s a set replacement fee or a charge per appliance, since that can change the longer-term cost beyond the initial package.
