When mine came off, I dove right into popcorn thinking it'd be easy... big mistake. Kernels got stuck everywhere, and my teeth felt oddly sensitive. Pizza sounds like a smarter move—soft crust first, trust me. Congrats on reaching the finish line!

Pizza's definitely a safer bet than popcorn, but honestly, even pizza gave me a bit of trouble at first. When I got mine off, I thought biting into a big juicy apple would be the ultimate celebration—felt symbolic or something. But nope... turns out my gums were still adjusting, and it felt weirdly uncomfortable biting straight into hard fruit. Did anyone else feel like their teeth were kinda loose or vulnerable right after braces? It took me about a week to feel confident enough to eat crunchy stuff without second-guessing every bite. Maybe start slow with pasta or something similar first, then gradually work your way up to the tougher foods. Congrats though—it's such a relief being brace-free after all that time.

Totally get what you mean about the apple thing... I remember thinking I'd dive straight into crunchy tacos the day mine came off, but my teeth felt oddly fragile and sensitive for a bit. It's like your mouth needs a little time to trust itself again after being supported by braces for so long. Pasta or softer foods are definitely a good call at first. Don't worry though, you'll be chomping apples comfortably before you know it. Congrats on finally getting them off—it's such a great feeling.

I remember that fragile feeling too—it's definitely a bit strange at first. I thought I'd immediately celebrate with popcorn at the movies, but my teeth weren't quite ready for that crunch yet. Pasta or even ice cream was a safer bet for me initially. But don't worry, it doesn't last long. Before you realize it, you'll be confidently biting into apples and crunchy tacos again. Congrats on reaching this milestone, it's truly worth celebrating.

Haha, I totally relate to this! I remember the day my braces came off—I was so pumped to dive right into all the forbidden crunchy treats I'd missed. But reality hit pretty quick when even a simple tortilla chip made my teeth feel weirdly sensitive. Instead, I ended up celebrating with a giant bowl of mac and cheese (extra cheesy, obviously) and a milkshake. Not the crunchy feast I'd imagined, but honestly, it felt like heaven after two years of brackets and wires.

The sensitivity does go away faster than you'd think, though. Within about a week or two, I was back to munching on chips and carrots without even thinking twice. My orthodontist recommended easing into it slowly, and honestly, I'm glad I listened—even if I didn't want to admit it at the time.

Anyway, congrats on finally being brace-free! It's such a good feeling, isn't it? Whatever you decide to eat first, just enjoy the moment... you've definitely earned it.
