Just got my braces tightened yesterday and ugh, forgot how annoying chewing is after that. I'm surviving on yogurt and soup right now lol. Quick poll: what's your go-to comfort food after getting braces adjusted?
Honestly, yogurt and soup never worked for me. After adjustments, even the idea of something cold hitting my teeth made me cringe... I usually stuck to room-temp mashed potatoes or oatmealβsomething soft but not too hot or cold. Maybe I'm overly cautious, but I was always paranoid about temperature sensitivity after tightening.
Also, just a heads-up from my own experience: relying too much on yogurt and smoothies gave me acid reflux issues (probably because I was eating so much dairy and fruit). Had to switch things up after a while. Now I alternate with scrambled eggs or soft pasta dishesβanything that doesn't need chewing but still feels substantial enough so I'm not starving an hour later.
I know everyone says ice cream is great comfort food post-braces adjustment, but personally, it always felt like torture to me. The chill would shoot straight through my teeth. Anyone else feel that way? Or am I just weirdly sensitive here...
Anyway, good luck! Hope your discomfort eases up soon.
