My ortho gave me the option to come in every 4 weeks or every 6-8 weeks for tightening. I'm kinda torn—more frequent visits might speed things up, but fewer visits means less soreness and hassle. Curious what others prefer and why?
I totally get the dilemma—it's a classic braces catch-22. More frequent tightenings can sometimes shave off a bit of treatment time, but honestly, the difference isn't usually huge enough to justify extra soreness (and extra trips to the ortho chair... yay?). From experience, most patients seem happier spacing visits out a little more. Teeth move at their own pace anyway, and giving them that extra breathing room often makes the whole braces journey feel less overwhelming. Plus, fewer appointments mean fewer awkward conversations with your mouth wide open, right?
