I’ve been doing braces adjustments every 4 weeks, but my friend’s ortho does them every 6 weeks instead. I’m honestly jealous she gets more time between visits (less poking and prodding, you know?), but I wonder if that means her treatment will take longer? For those who’ve done both, did you notice any difference in pain, results, or just general hassle? Which schedule did you prefer?

I was on the 6-week schedule for most of my braces run, and honestly, it felt like a win at first—fewer trips, less hassle. But I did notice things moved a bit slower compared to my cousin, who was in every month. My ortho said the tech in the wires can sometimes keep working between visits, but I still felt like my adjustments dragged out. Pain-wise, I didn’t really see a huge difference. If you’re impatient like me, monthly might feel faster... but if you hate appointments, 6 weeks is chill.

I was switched to the six-week schedule halfway through my treatment, and honestly, it was a relief not running to the office so often. I did notice my teeth seemed to move a bit slower, but for me, less stress outweighed the wait. I’m not the most patient person either, but I’d rather have fewer appointments—parking was always a nightmare for me anyway.

Totally get that. I was on the monthly schedule for ages and honestly, it felt like my life revolved around those appointments. I’d leave work early, fight traffic, and then sit in the waiting room forever... not fun. The six-week thing sounds like a sanity-saver, even if it means dragging things out a little. At least you’re not circling the parking lot like a vulture every few weeks. I’d take slower progress over extra stress any day.

Dragging myself to those monthly appointments always made me anxious... just felt like I barely got a break before it was time to go back. The six-week thing is tempting, but I worry that maybe my teeth would shift back or not move as planned? Hard to say if it’s worth possibly longer treatment, but honestly the less time in that chair, the better for my nerves.
