Chewing gum always seems to lose its punch in like 10 minutes for me, but I found that if I drink a glass of cold water right after popping a mint or using mouthwash, the freshness actually sticks around longer. Maybe it’s just in my head, but it feels like it “locks in” the minty-ness somehow. Anyone else have little tricks for keeping your breath fresh between meals?

Yeah, I get what you mean about the “minty-ness” fading fast. I’ve noticed cold water does seem to boost that fresh feeling for a bit. I also try to avoid coffee or anything sugary between meals, since that just makes my breath worse. Do you think using a tongue scraper actually helps? I started doing it before brushing and it seems to make a difference, but maybe that’s just me...

I’ve always wondered if tongue scrapers are just a placebo thing or actually do something. I tried one for a week and honestly couldn’t tell much difference—maybe I was doing it wrong? Cold water works for me too, but it’s not magic. Anyone else find mouthwash just nukes the minty taste from mints instead of helping?

I used to think tongue scrapers were kinda pointless too, but after my dentist showed me how to use one properly (pressing a bit firmer, scraping further back), I actually noticed less morning breath. Maybe it’s just me being paranoid about smells, but it helped my confidence. Mouthwash, though—I totally agree, it just wipes out the minty flavor and leaves this weird aftertaste. Cold water feels nice but doesn’t last long for me either.

I’ve tried those tongue scrapers too—mixed results for me, but maybe I’m not consistent enough. Honestly, mints just seem to fade fast no matter what. Sometimes I’ll just suck on a tiny piece for longer instead of crunching it right away. Doesn’t fix everything, but it helps a bit.
