I've been considering electric toothbrushes myself, but I share your hesitation about the buzzing and timersβ€”they can feel a bit intrusive. My dentist also insists they're more effective, especially for gum health. I'm curious though, have you tried any manual brushes with softer bristles or different brushing techniques? Sometimes minor adjustments can make a noticeable difference without the added anxiety of electronics...just a thought.

I actually switched to a super-soft manual brush a few months ago after my dentist pointed out some gum recession. Took a bit of getting used to, but I found that holding the brush at a 45-degree angle and gently brushing in small circles really helped. It feels less abrasive, and my gums aren't as sensitive now. Might be worth experimenting with before jumping into electric brushes if you're hesitant about the buzzing and timers...
