I get where you’re coming from about mouthwash, but honestly, I’m a little skeptical that it really reaches those stubborn spots, especially when you’ve got brackets and wires everywhere. I tried a few “deep clean” rinses while I had braces, but if anything, they just made my mouth feel minty for a bit. For me, nothing beat actually flossing—no shortcut there, sadly. It was a pain, but my hygienist kept telling me that mechanical cleaning (like brushing and flossing) does way more than mouthwash ever could.

Yeah, I totally see what you mean. I tried using mouthwash with braces too, and it just felt like a quick fix. Flossing with those little threaders was tedious, but I always noticed way less gunk after. My orthodontist showed me how food can hide under the wires—mouthwash never seemed to get that stuff out. Maybe mouthwash helps with bacteria overall, but for actual debris, flossing is just... necessary, even if it’s annoying.
