My daughter is 5 and a half, and yesterday she came home from school saying her best friend lost her first tooth. Now she's all worried cuz none of hers are even wiggly yet, lol. I told her everyone is different, but now I'm kinda curious myself...is there like a "normal" age range for this or something? She's my oldest so I'm kinda new at this whole tooth fairy business haha. Anyone else have kids who started losing teeth later than their friends?
My son was actually closer to 7 when he lost his first tooth, so your daughter definitely isn't alone. I remember him coming home from kindergarten pretty upset because it seemed like half his class had already had visits from the tooth fairy. We reassured him that teeth fall out when they're ready, and sure enough, once they started coming loose, it felt like he was losing one every other week! From what our dentist explained, the typical range is around 5-7 years old, but it's totally normal for some kids to start earlier or later. Honestly, I wouldn't worry too much—your daughter's teeth will probably start wiggling before you know it. Just enjoy the calm before the tooth fairy storm hits your house...it can get pretty busy once it starts!
