Just curious, if you wake up with crazy tooth pain in the middle of the night, do you head to the ER or tough it out and call your dentist in the morning? I’ve done both and honestly, neither is fun. Which do you think is better and why?

Then I put a cold pack on my cheek because it started to swell a bit. I tried not to mess with it, but I did cover the jagged edge with a bit of sugarless gum so it wouldn’t scrape my tongue. Obviously, called the dentist right after, but it took a day to get in. Anyone have better tricks for keeping the pain down or protecting the tooth while you wait?
