Imagine you’re just minding your business, eating pizza, and suddenly you feel that horrible crunch—turns out you chipped a tooth. Not a huge chunk, but enough to freak you out. Would you rinse with salt water? Try to cover the sharp edge with wax or something? I’ve heard mixed things about painkillers and even chewing on the other side. What’s your go-to move before you can actually see a dentist?
Try to cover the sharp edge with wax or something?
Happened to me last year, right in the middle of a meat lover’s slice. That sharp edge drove me nuts. I did rinse with salt water, mostly out of habit, and then I remembered my old orthodontic wax from back in the day—worked like a charm for a few hours. Chewing on the other side is a must, but I swear, you’ll forget and hit the wrong side at least once. Painkillers only if it’s throbbing, but usually, it’s more annoying than painful for me.
