Seriously, had to rush my son to the dentist yesterday after he chipped his tooth at soccer, and it was like pulling teeth (pun intended) just to find someone who'd see him same day. Anyone else dealt with this hassle?
Had a similar issue last year when my daughter knocked out a baby tooth at daycare. Dentist said it wasn't urgent, but I wasn't convinced... ended up calling around and finally found a pediatric dentist who squeezed us in. Maybe regular dentists just aren't comfortable handling kids' dental emergencies? Might help to keep a pediatric specialist's number handy for next time.

Yeah, I think you're onto something there. Regular dentists probably see fewer pediatric emergencies, so they might not feel as confident handling them. When I had braces, my orthodontist explained that kids' teeth and gums are differentβsmaller mouths, developing teeth, and all thatβso pediatric specialists have extra training specifically for those situations. Definitely a good idea to keep a pediatric dentist's number handy... better safe than sorry, right?
