I’m actually about to get my first implant and I’m stressing a bit about the stuff no one tells you, like the metallic taste you mentioned. Did it last long for you? I’ve got a running list of things I’m worried about… pain, swelling, weird noises. I keep reading reviews but half of them just make me more nervous.

Metallic taste hit me for a couple days, then faded—felt like I was chewing on pocket change at first, honestly. Pain was manageable with regular painkillers. Swelling peaked day two, then it was just annoying, not awful. Never had weird noises, though. Reviews can be wild... half of mine made me expect robot jaw syndrome or something.

That metallic taste is no joke—I kept thinking I’d set off airport security with my jaw. I also went down the rabbit hole reading reviews and braced myself for some kind of cyborg malfunction. Turns out, it was mostly just weird swelling and a lot of soup.

Honestly, I get that—my brain kept jumping to worst-case scenarios too. Did you find anything that actually helped with the swelling? For me, cold packs worked but I always wondered if there was a smarter tech-y solution out there.

My kiddo looked like a chipmunk for three days straight—he got a kick out of it, but I was on “swelling patrol” with frozen peas. Cold packs definitely helped, though he kept trying to sneak them into his pillow fort. I did try one of those gel masks you chill in the fridge, but honestly, it just made him giggle more than anything. Has anyone tried any of those fancy vibrating massagers for swelling? I keep seeing ads for them, but I’m skeptical…
