Last weekend I was trying to fix up this old wooden chair my grandma left me. Thought I'd just slap on some glue and call it a day, but turns out wood glue doesn't exactly love bonding with metal brackets (who knew?). Ended up making a mess, glue everywhere, chair still wobbly... you get the picture. Anyone else ever had a bonding nightmare like this? Curious if you've found something that actually sticks different materials together without falling apart after two days.
Been there myself, wood glue and metal brackets are definitely not friends. I had a similar issue fixing up an old coffee table—ended up using epoxy instead. It's pretty affordable if you grab the generic brands, and honestly, it bonds wood to metal surprisingly well. Just make sure you mix it thoroughly and give it enough time to cure properly... patience pays off big time with epoxy. Good luck with the chair, sounds like a cool project!
