I usually swap mine out every 3 months or so, or sooner if the bristles start looking all frayed and sad. Basically, I just eyeball it. Wondering if anyone has a better system or trick to remember when it's time?

Honestly, eyeballing it sounds perfectly reasonable to me. I used to stress about this tooβlike, am I secretly harboring a germ colony if I wait too long? But then my dentist casually mentioned that as long as the bristles aren't totally wrecked, around three months is fine. Now I just set a reminder on my phone calendar every three months...but let's be real, half the time I ignore it and still rely on the sad-bristle test. You're doing great, trust your instincts.
