I always thought flossing was pretty straightforward, you know, just slide it between your teeth and you're good. But nope, my dentist showed me I've been doing it wrong forever. Apparently, you're supposed to gently curve the floss around each tooth in a C-shape and slide it up and down carefully under the gumline. Been trying this for a week now, gums feel way better already. Anyone else have different tricks or methods they swear by?

Yeah, I had the exact same realization a couple years back. Thought flossing was just a quick swipe between teeth until my dentist showed me the whole "C-shape" thing. Felt kinda silly at first, but honestly, it's made such a difference. One thing that helped me even more was switching to those wider, flat floss tapes instead of the thin stringy onesβ€”way gentler on my gums and easier to control. Also, I try not to rush through it anymore... taking my time and doing it properly once a day has been way more effective than quickly flossing twice. Glad your gums are feeling better alreadyβ€”it's crazy how fast you notice improvements once you start doing it right.

Same here, had no clue until recently. The flat tape floss is great, but honestly, I just buy whatever's cheapest on sale. Once you get the C-shape thing down, even the cheap stuff works fine...my gums stopped bleeding within a week or two. Totally worth the extra minute.
