I get what you mean about the straw thing being kind of a hassle, but for me, it actually made a difference—especially with super dark drinks like cold brew. I’m not always great about rinsing right after eating, so the straw was my lazy fix. That said, I totally agree on darker bands—clear ones never stayed clear for me either. Honestly, I just started matching my band color to my coffee habit and called it a day.

I totally relate to matching band colors to coffee—clear ones just never stood a chance for me either. I actually tried the straw trick for a while, but I got kind of paranoid about whether it was really helping or just making me feel better. My dentist mentioned even stuff like soy sauce and balsamic vinegar can stain, which honestly made me worry about every meal. Has anyone noticed certain foods or drinks causing more staining than others, or is it just me being overly anxious?

I hear you on the paranoia—after my last cleaning, I basically side-eyed every cup of tea like it was plotting against me. Red wine’s the worst for me, though. One glass and my teeth look like I’ve been eating beets for a week. I tried avoiding tomato sauce for a bit, but honestly, life’s too short to skip pasta.

Red wine is brutal, but for me it’s coffee that sabotages my efforts every time. I tried one of those “whitening” toothpastes with activated charcoal—looked like I was brushing with printer toner, honestly. Didn’t really notice a huge difference, but maybe that’s just me. And yeah, tomato sauce? No way am I giving up pizza. I figure as long as I’m brushing and flossing regularly, I’ll survive a little staining here and there.

Brushing and flossing definitely help, but I gotta say—coffee and red wine are like the Batman and Joker of tooth stains. That charcoal toothpaste trend? Seen a lot of folks try it, but honestly, it’s more Instagram than actual science. If you’re set on keeping your pizza and lattes (and who isn’t?), maybe try using a straw for iced coffee or rinsing with water after. Not glamorous, but your teeth will thank you... eventually.
