I usually suggest antiseptic mouthwash too, but personally, saltwater worked better for me. After my own deep cleaning, the antiseptic felt a bit harsh... saltwater rinses seemed gentler and reduced swelling faster. Guess everyone's mouth reacts differently though.

Interesting perspective, though in my experience antiseptic mouthwash isn't necessarily harsher if used correctly. Sometimes patients feel discomfort because they're rinsing too vigorously or using it undiluted. Diluting it slightly or reducing rinse duration can help ease irritation while still providing effective bacteria control. Saltwater does have soothing properties, but antiseptics usually offer more consistent bacterial reduction. Of course, individual tolerance varies, so what matters most is finding a balance between comfort and effectiveness.

Yeah, antiseptic mouthwash might be effective, but man, it felt like rinsing with battery acid for me—even diluted. Saltwater was my savior... boring but gentle. Took about a week before things chilled out completely. Hang in there!
