Getting used to dental bridges - my tips so far

Got my dental bridge installed recently and, um, it felt pretty weird at first. What helped me was starting with softer foods for a few days, chewing slowly, and rinsing with warm salt water to ease the gums. Also practiced reading out loud to get used to speaking naturally again (felt kinda silly, but hey, it worked). Wondering if anyone else has different tricks or quicker ways to feel comfy with these things?

Haha, reading out loud is actually genius - I wish I'd thought of that. I mostly just annoyed my family by singing along badly to the radio in the car... seemed to help though, or maybe they just got used to ignoring me.

Haha, singing badly in the car sounds way more fun than my method! When I first got my dental bridge, I tried chewing gum to "practice" (yeah, I know, genius move). Spoiler alert: it didn't end well. I spent half an hour convinced I'd broken something and frantically googling "can chewing gum ruin dental bridges??" Turns out, no permanent damage done, but my dignity definitely took a hit.

Now I mostly stick to softer foods and mumbling quietly to myself at home - my cat thinks I've lost it, but hey, at least he's not judging my singing skills. Honestly though, after a few weeks, you kinda forget it's even there. Just avoid gum... trust me on that one.
