Just got a dental bridge put in a couple days ago and honestly it's been a bit uncomfortable figuring out how to take care of it properly. Dentist gave me some general pointers but didn't really cover much detail. Like, is flossing under it supposed to feel this awkward? And eating feels kinda weird too, I'm worried about damaging it or something... Anyone been through this and have some practical tips or advice they could share?

Yeah, flossing under a bridge definitely takes some getting used to at first. When I got mine in, I remember feeling exactly the same wayβ€”super awkward and worrying I'd pop it off or something. But honestly, after a week or two, it started feeling way more natural. One thing that really helped me was using those floss threaders (you can find them at any drugstore). They're kinda weird at first, but once you get the hang of threading the floss under, it becomes second nature.

Eating was another story though... I stuck mostly to softer foods for the first week or so until I felt confident nothing was gonna shift around. After that, I gradually introduced harder stuff back into my diet. Now I don't even think about it anymore.

Did your dentist give you any specific recommendations on toothbrush types? Mine suggested a soft-bristled brush, but I've heard others swear by electric toothbrushes for keeping bridges clean. Curious what everyone else uses...
