Switching to floss picks totally changed my nightly routine

I used to be the worst at remembering to floss, mostly because the regular string just felt like a hassle and honestly, I’d skip it more than I’d like to admit. A few months ago I grabbed a bag of those little floss picks on a whim, and now I actually look forward to flossing (well, sort of). It’s just so much easier, especially when I'm half-asleep. My dentist even noticed less plaque at my last checkup. Anyone else make the switch and notice a difference, or am I just late to the party?

Honestly, I keep debating whether to switch to floss picks too. I get super anxious about my gums bleeding, and the regular string always makes me feel like I'm doing it wrong or hurting myself. Do you find the picks are actually gentler, or is it just easier because they're quicker? My last cleaning was rough and now I'm kind of paranoid about anything that could make my gums worse.

I totally get that nervous feeling—my gums bleed pretty much every time I floss, and it freaks me out too. I switched to picks a few weeks ago, and honestly, they're just less awkward for me to use. Not sure if they're actually gentler, but I don't feel like I'm digging into my gums as much. Did your dentist say anything about your gums being sensitive, or is it just the bleeding that worries you?

Yeah, I totally relate—the first time I used regular floss, my gums looked like a crime scene. Picks just feel less like I’m wrestling with my mouth, and more like I’m actually cleaning it. My dentist said the bleeding’s mostly from not flossing enough (awkward), so apparently it gets better if you stick with it? Still, picks seem way easier to maneuver, especially for the back teeth. It’s weirdly satisfying when you get a chunk of something out you didn’t even know was there... or is that just me?

- Definitely agree about the back teeth—those were always the worst for me with regular floss. Picks just seem to glide in without the awkward angles or feeling like I’m about to cut off circulation to my fingers.
- The bleeding thing is real. I was surprised how much less it happened after a couple weeks of using picks consistently. Guess my dentist wasn’t kidding when they said my gums would “toughen up.”
- I get what you mean about finding random stuff stuck between teeth—kind of gross, kind of satisfying? Makes me wonder how much I was missing before.
- Only thing is, I sometimes worry if picks are as effective as regular floss, since they don’t wrap around the tooth as much. But honestly, I’d rather floss with picks than not at all, which used to be my reality.
- Anyone else notice their breath improved after switching? Maybe it’s just because I’m finally flossing every night.
