If the tool’s working against you, nobody’s going to want to keep up the habit.

Totally agree there. I used to think any floss pick would do, but the difference with a thicker handle is wild. My youngest actually started reminding me if we forgot to floss, which never happened before. It’s funny how one little change can make the whole thing less of a headache.

That’s wild about the handle making such a difference. I always thought they were all kinda the same, but after trying a couple different brands, I actually stuck with the one that had a bit of grip on it. Made flossing way less annoying, honestly. Do you guys bother with the ones that have the little “toothpick” end, or just the floss part? I always break those off accidentally...

Interesting, I actually have the opposite experience with those toothpick ends. I know a lot of people say they break off, but for me, I end up using them more than the floss part. Maybe I’m just rough with the floss and it shreds, but those little picks are perfect for getting stuff out from between my back teeth where regular floss won’t fit easily. I do wish they were a bit sturdier though—sometimes they bend or snap if you push too hard.

Has anyone tried those silicone-tipped ones? I’m curious if they’re less prone to breaking, but I haven’t taken the plunge since they’re pricier. Also, does anyone know if the textured handles actually make that much of a difference for grip when your hands are wet? Sometimes I feel like it’s just a marketing thing, but maybe not…
