I totally get the guilt about plastic picks. I’ve looked into the cornstarch ones, but the more I read, the more it seems like compostable doesn’t always mean what we hope.

Yeah, I had high hopes for those too, but after digging into the fine print it’s not as green as they make it sound. I tried silk floss for a while—it actually worked better for my tight teeth than anything silicone or “eco” so far. Still not perfect, but at least it’s compostable at home (if you don’t mind a little patience). The struggle is real when you want to do right by your teeth and the planet...

Yeah, I hear you on the “compostable” labels—sometimes it just means industrial compost only, which isn’t really accessible for most of us. I tried silk too, but honestly, it shreds super fast between my teeth and that drives me nuts. I keep wondering if there’s a truly guilt-free option or if we’re just stuck with picking the lesser evil... I wish dental offices would take back used floss or something, but that’s probably a pipe dream.

Yeah, the “compostable” thing gets me too—most curbside programs just toss that stuff in the landfill anyway. I tried silk floss and had the same shredding problem, especially with tight contacts. Have you looked into water flossers? Not perfect, but at least there’s less waste. Still feels like a compromise though...

I hear you on the silk floss—mine just turned into a fuzzy mess between my molars. Tried a water flosser last year and honestly, it’s less waste but kinda messy? Still, beats tossing more plastic in the trash. Nothing’s perfect, huh...

That fuzzy silk floss situation is all too familiar… I tried it for a while and honestly, it just kept shredding on my tight contacts. Switched to a water flosser too—yeah, it’s a bit of a splash zone, but I figure the reduction in single-use plastics is worth the learning curve. It’s definitely not perfect, but I like that it feels gentler on my gums. Sometimes I miss the convenience of regular floss, though. Guess it’s just about finding what works and not stressing too much over the little things.
