Scrambled eggs are great, but honestly, they got boring fast for me. I found mashed sweet potatoes way more satisfying—soft enough to handle comfortably, plus a bit more flavor and nutrients. Might be worth a try if eggs lose their charm...

Mashed sweet potatoes are a solid choice, definitely easier on the mouth. I also found creamy soups helpful—like butternut squash or broccoli cheddar. Warm, tasty, and filling enough without much chewing...worth mixing things up sometimes.

Mashed sweet potatoes are definitely a lifesaver, especially with kids. My daughter had braces put on recently, and the first few days were rough—she was miserable trying to eat anything remotely solid. Creamy soups were a hit here too, but honestly, smoothies became our best friend. I threw in bananas, yogurt, peanut butter, even spinach (shhh, she still doesn't know about that one...). It kept her full and gave her some nutrition without the struggle.

One thing I'd gently disagree with though is sticking only to warm foods. Cold stuff like yogurt or chilled pudding cups seemed to soothe her mouth a bit more than warm soups sometimes. Maybe it's just personal preference, but mixing hot and cold options helped keep things interesting and comfortable.

Hang in there—it does get easier pretty quickly. Before you know it, you'll both be back to regular meals and wondering why you ever worried so much about mashed potatoes and soup!

Totally get that cold foods can feel soothing, but for my son, anything too chilly actually made his teeth ache worse at first. We ended up going room-temp with most things—applesauce, oatmeal, even scrambled eggs mashed up really fine. It's funny how each kid reacts differently... Braces really are a trial-and-error kinda thing, aren't they? Glad your smoothies worked out though, sneaky spinach and all... gotta love parenting hacks!

We had a similar experience—cold stuff was soothing at first, but then my daughter complained about sensitivity too. Room-temp mashed potatoes ended up being our go-to comfort food. You're right though, braces really are trial-and-error... and patience-testing, lol.
