I've tried cooking rice softer after dental work, and honestly, it doesn't lose much flavor—but texture-wise, there's definitely a sweet spot. Add just a bit more water than usual and cook it slightly longer, but not too long or yeah... mush city. Worth experimenting a little.

I've been wondering—is rice really the best choice after dental work? Even softer rice can sometimes get stuck in places you don't want it to, right? Maybe something smoother like mashed potatoes or oatmeal would be easier to handle. Has anyone found rice grains irritating their gums or stitches, even when cooked softer? Just curious because I'm scheduled soon and trying to plan ahead...

Rice was tricky for my son after his dental procedure—it kept sneaking into spots we didn't even know existed, haha. Mashed potatoes and smoothies were definitely easier. Maybe save rice for when things settle down a bit? Good luck with your appointment!

Rice is definitely tricky after dental work—it seems to find every hidden corner. Mashed potatoes were my go-to as well, along with soups. It does get easier with time, hang in there. Hope your son's recovery continues smoothly.

Mashed potatoes are a lifesaver, honestly. Rice drove me nuts too—felt like I was excavating grains for days afterward, lol. Scrambled eggs and smoothies helped me a ton, cheap and easy to prep. It sucks now, but he'll be back to pizza soon enough...hang tight.
