Grinding teeth at night...what if you ignored it?

You're definitely not aloneβ€”I went through a similar phase with my night guard. Kept finding it under the bed or tangled in sheets. Took me a solid two weeks before it stayed put...hang in there, it gets easier.

Haha, same here...mine even ended up halfway across the room once. Honestly, it's frustrating at first, but after a while it just becomes second nature. Hang tight, you're doing great.

Totally get where you're coming from, but I wouldn't say it ever became second nature for me...more like grudging acceptance, haha. When I first got my night guard, I was constantly waking up to find it wedged between the mattress and the wall. Took me months to stop subconsciously tossing it aside. But honestly, ignoring the grinding altogether isn't really an option either. I tried that route for a while (big mistake), and ended up with headaches and jaw pain that lasted all day. My dentist even warned me about potential tooth damage if I kept ignoring it.

Curious though, has anyone here noticed a difference in sleep quality after finally getting used to their night guard? For me, once I stopped fighting it, I actually started sleeping deeper and waking up feeling more rested. Wondering if that's common or just my imagination...

Honestly, I wish I could say yes, but for me it's still a nightly struggle. Even after months, it feels awkward and disrupts my sleep...maybe I'm just overly aware of it?

I understand your frustration, but personally, after about three weeks, I found the night guard actually improved my sleep. Maybe it's worth checking if yours needs adjusting or a different fit? Just a thought.
