We've been using denture tablets for a while now, and honestly, they're a game changer. Mild soap works fine, sure, but those tablets really freshen things up—no more funky morning breath smell lingering around the bathroom sink, if you know what I mean. 😂 As for durability, two years is pretty solid, but my kiddo started grinding like he was training for the Olympics around age 13, and we definitely noticed faster wear after that. Might wanna brace yourself...teenage stress grinding is no joke.

Denture tablets sound handy, but honestly, I've found soaking my mouthguard in diluted white vinegar once a week works wonders too. It neutralizes odors surprisingly well and feels a bit more natural than tablets. Totally agree about teenage grinding though...I started clenching badly around exams, and my guard barely lasted a year. Stress is brutal on these things, so maybe durability depends more on stress levels than age alone? Either way, good luck—teen years are rough enough without dental drama added in!

Haha, absolutely true. My dentist jokes that I must have jaws of steel—my mouthguards rarely survive past a year. Vinegar trick sounds good though, might give it a shot next time mine gets funky...

Interesting point on stress levels—I hadn't considered that angle before. My mouthguards tend to last around two years, but I suspect that's partly because I'm careful with cleaning and storage. The vinegar method sounds intriguing, though I'm curious if it affects the material's integrity over time. Has anyone noticed if frequent cleaning with vinegar or other solutions impacts durability at all?

I've used the vinegar trick a few times myself, and honestly, haven't noticed any real issues with durability. I usually dilute it quite a bit though—straight vinegar seems a bit harsh to me. My mouthguards tend to last around two years too, but I think that's more about my clenching habits than cleaning methods, haha. Still, it's nice knowing they're fresh and clean without using harsh chemicals...
