I totally get the anxiety about chemicals, but honestly, mild soap didn't cut it for me. Mine started getting a weird smell after a while (gross, I know...), so I switched back to denture cleaning tablets every few days. My dentist said they're safe if you rinse thoroughly afterward. Been doing this for over a year now and haven't noticed any extra wear or damageβjust throwing it out there in case soap alone isn't enough for someone else either.

Haha, yep...been there! My son's mouthguard had the same issue after just using mild soap. We switched to denture tablets too, and it honestly made a huge difference. Our dentist also reassured us it's safe if rinsed properly. It's been about eight months now, and the guard still looks (and smells!) as good as new. Glad we're not the only ones who had to ditch soap alone for something stronger.

That's impressiveβours usually lasted around a year, tops. Even with denture tablets, my daughter's mouthguard eventually got some tiny cracks and discoloration. Our dentist said that's normal wear and tear from nightly grinding. But yeah, soap alone definitely wasn't cutting it for us either... glad to know we're not the only ones who had to step up our cleaning game!
