That chalky buildup drives me nuts, too. I see a lot of folks come in with guards that look like they’ve seen better days—usually the over-the-counter ones start breaking down around the 6-8 month mark, just like yours. I’ve had some patients try those online custom kits (where you send in a mold), and a couple have said they lasted over a year, but others weren’t impressed. Has anyone actually compared one of those mail-order guards to the ones you get from the dentist? I’m curious if they really hold up or if it’s just luck.
