I've tried rinsing with cold water too, but honestly haven't noticed much difference. Instead, soaking in plain water afterward for a few minutes seems to help more with the chlorine taste...might just be personal preference though.

I've noticed the soaking trick helps too, especially if you leave it in fresh water for a bit longer—maybe 10-15 minutes. Another thing that's worked well for me is using a mild denture cleaning tablet once a week or so. It seems to really neutralize any lingering chlorine taste and keeps the mouthguard feeling fresher overall. Might be worth a shot if plain water isn't quite cutting it for you...

Interesting idea about the denture tablets—I never would've thought of that. I've been doing the soaking-in-water thing too, but honestly, sometimes it still feels a bit off. Reminds me of when I first got my mouthguard and was convinced it had some weird factory taste. I even tried soaking it in mint tea once (don't judge, desperate times...), which was a total disaster. It ended up tasting like toothpaste-flavored plastic for days.

Anyway, I'm curious about the denture tablet trick. Does it leave any aftertaste at all? I mean, I know they're safe for dentures, but something about putting my mouthguard in fizzy water just feels...oddly unsettling. Maybe I'll give it a cautious try this weekend and report back if my mouthguard survives the experiment.

I've actually tried the denture tablet thing myself, and it works surprisingly well. No weird aftertaste or anything, at least not that I've noticed. Just make sure you rinse it thoroughly afterward. I get what you mean about the fizzy water feeling a bit odd though...first time I did it, I kept staring at the bubbles like something was gonna explode. Still beats toothpaste-flavored plastic any day—mint tea soak sounds like a bold move, haha.

Have you thought about just using diluted mouthwash instead? Denture tablets are handy, but some can be abrasive over time. Mouthwash gives a fresh feel without the weird fizz—plus, no mint tea experiments needed, haha.
