Haha, your mattress story made me laughβ€”mouthguards really do seem to have secret adventures when we're not looking. Ever tried using one of those little drying stands or cases with ventilation holes? I've found they help a ton with the humidity issue. And yeah, bacteria love moisture, so you're definitely on the right track keeping it dry. Glad you eventually found yours though... losing dental gear is surprisingly stressful, isn't it?

Yeah, those ventilated cases are handy, but honestly, I've had mixed luck. Mine still manages to get weirdly damp sometimesβ€”maybe my bathroom's just cursed with humidity or something. I ended up ditching the fancy stand and just leaving it out on a clean towel overnight. Less high-tech, but weirdly effective. And totally agree, losing dental gear is oddly panic-inducing... like, how can something so small cause so much stress?

I've had similar experiences with those ventilated cases. They're decent, but I think it really depends on your bathroom setup. Mine's tiny and has zero airflow, so even the fancy case didn't help much. I ended up placing mine near an open window overnightβ€”seems to do the trick. But now I'm wondering, does anyone know if leaving it exposed like that could cause hygiene issues? Feels a bit weird just letting it sit out in the open air...

You're right to be cautious about leaving it exposed, but honestly, airing it out near a window is usually fine hygiene-wise. Just make sure it's not directly exposed to dust or insects. I've done something similar for years without issues...

Yeah, airing it out near a window seems pretty safe to me too, as long as you're careful. I've done something similar, but I usually put mine on a clean towel or paper napkin just to be extra cautious. Maybe I'm overly careful, haha. But honestly, the real mystery for me is how the case always manages to vanish into thin air...seriously, I've replaced mine twice already! Glad I'm not the only one dealing with mouthguard mysteries.
