I've been using these stainless steel tongue scrapers for a while now and they're great, but I'm starting to wonder how long they're supposed to last. Mine seem to get dull or kinda rough feeling after a few months of daily use. Is that normal, or am I just buying cheap ones? Also, if you have a brand that's lasted you forever, drop me a recommendation please.

Mine usually last around 6 months or so before they start feeling a bit rough too. I thought it was just me being picky, haha. Honestly, I've tried pricier ones and cheaper ones, and haven't noticed a huge difference in lifespan. Right now I'm using Dr. Tung's brand—it's affordable and seems to hold up pretty well. Maybe give that one a shot next time you're shopping around?

Totally agree with this. The material and shape matter way more than price when it comes to tongue cleaners. Dr. Tung's is definitely a solid choice—I've recommended it to patients before because of its stainless steel design, which is naturally antibacterial and easy to clean. Just make sure you're rinsing and drying your cleaner properly after each use; moisture buildup can cause roughness or discoloration quicker than you'd think.

I feel like I go through tongue scrapers faster than most people here, lol. A few months ago, I bought this super fancy copper one online because I heard copper was naturally antibacterial or something. Followed the whole "rinse and dry thoroughly" thing religiously, and at first, it was awesome. But after maybe 3 months, it started looking sketchy—like kinda discolored and weirdly rough around the edges. I tried soaking it in vinegar, scrubbing gently, nothing really helped.

Eventually, I switched to a basic stainless steel one (probably similar to Dr. Tung's), and it's been holding up way better. Honestly, I think copper's just too high-maintenance for me. Stainless steel seems way more forgiving if you're lazy like I am and occasionally forget to dry it off completely... Lesson learned, I guess?

I've had my stainless steel scraper for almost two years now, and it's still going strong. I just rinse it under hot water and dry it off quickly—nothing fancy. Maybe the quality varies more than we realize.
