Been thinking about stepping up my oral hygiene game at home, and I'm kinda stuck between those stainless steel dental picks (the ones that look a bit scary, lol) and a water flosser. I've heard good things about both, but honestly, the metal picks make me a little nervous—like, am I gonna accidentally poke myself or something? Water flossers seem gentler, but do they really clean as well? Curious if anyone's tried both and has a preference or some tips...

I've tried both and honestly, I totally get your hesitation about the metal picks—they do look intimidating at first. They're actually pretty effective at removing hardened plaque (tartar), but unless you're super careful, you can scratch your gums or enamel. Water flossers are gentler and surprisingly powerful at cleaning between teeth and under the gumline. I'd recommend starting with a water flosser for daily use, and maybe just occasionally (and very carefully!) using the metal pick for stubborn tartar spots.
